The Sun Island scenic area of Harbin, capital of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, was turned into a massive exhibition ground for snow sculptures as the city's Ice and Snow Festival opened on January 5, 2013. The festival has attracted artists from China, Russia and a number of other countries that hope to showcase their snow sculpture works inside the Sun Island scenic area.
