Taiwan's total land area is about 36,000 square kilometers (14,400 square miles). It is shaped like a leaf that is narrow at both ends. It lies off the southeastern coast off the Chinese mainland. Many airlines fly to Taiwan, making it the perfect travel destination.
Taiwan lies on the western edge of the Pacific "rim of fire," and continuous tectonic movements have created majestic peaks, rolling hills and plains, basins, coastlines, and other natural landscapes. Taiwan's tropical, sub-tropical, and temperate climates provide clear differentiation between the different seasons.
In spite of being a small island, Taiwan has a special geologic structure that has created an endless variety of prodigious scenery. In addition to its rich cultural characteristics, Taiwan's tourist resources have been developed in abundance. To help travelers enjoy themselves and have an in-depth travel experience, tours have been planned to combine natural scenery with cultural attractions. A wide range of tours based on different themes are available. Gourmets, hot spring, night market as well as rail tour and offshore island adventure all are highly recommended.(Gao Yinan)
