In summer, floating down the river and enjoying the delectable aroma of fragrant lotus blossoms is a marvelous way to relax. Following are eight boating places recommended in Beijing.

1. Beihai Park

Beihai Park is an imperial garden to the northwest of the Forbidden City in Beijing. First built in the 10th century, it is among the largest Chinese gardens, and contains numerous historically important structures, palaces and temples. The park covers an area of 69 hectares including a 39-hectare lake. It is also connected at its northern end to the Shichahai.

Entrance Fee:
Peak season: 10 yuan (Through ticket: 20 yuan)
Off season: 5 yuan (Through ticket: 15 yuan)
Opening hours:
6:30 – 21:00 (April to October); 6:30-20:00 (November to March)
