Six people were killed and four others injured in twin roadside bomb explosions near a bus station in eastern Baghdad on Wednesday, an Interior Ministry source said.
"Two roadside bombs in the morning detonated in a quick succession near a bus station on the al-Qanat Street, killing six civilians and wounding four others," the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
The blast also damaged several civilian cars in the crowded bus station, the source added.
Violence persists in Baghdad despite the presence of tens of thousands of U.S. and Iraqi soldiers across the capital in a major security crackdown aimed at curbing insurgency and sectarian violence.
