Without doubt, it's a hot day in Beijing as usual in the season. Archers from east and west set foots at the Olympic test here, and archers presented east-and-west responses to the heat that can rival the Olympic Games fever.
For British archer Alan Wills, it's a comfortable day in spite of finishing in less decent 36th place in prelimimaries at the tournament.
"The weather is nice, warm, with little wind. But I have been suffering from a shoulder problem," said Wills.
Wills aims high at the event although he started not so well. " To reach medal position in Olympics and to come in the top eight in the individual competition is where I eye for," said Wills.
The individual leader Kim Sky from Australia felt the sweltering heat in the field, but it did not affect his fancy for the venue. Or maybe the outstanding mark dispelled the scorch.
"It's very hot in Beijing. Sticky! But the venue is really good.I love the Green Archery Field," said Kim as he wiped off the sweat in forehead.
To U.S. archer Jennifer Nichols, who finished fourth in this years World Championships, it takes some time to acclimatize.
"The weather does take some time to get used to, because I come from a very dry place and here is much more humid," said Nichols, but it won't sway her praise for the venue.
"The venue is so beautiful, I like it very much. There is a little wind today, but it's an excellent location."
Russia's coach Stanislav Zabrodskiy remembers only the distaste hot weather brought to his team.
"It's very hot and sticky. Our archers don't have much experience with the conditions living in Beijing. They find it is hard for them to adapt to the weather here," complained Zabrodskiy.
"I'm not satisfied yet. The result is Ok, but they could have done better."
Russia was third in men's team and seventh in women's team.
