South Korea's Hyundai Asan company, the operator of the inter-Korean tourism project in the scenic Geumgang Mountain of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea ( DPRK), said on Sunday it will send 740 tons of relief goods to DPRK.
Hyundai Asan will complete shipment of 500 tons of cement and 240 tons of flour and other daily necessities by Friday, said a spokesman of the company.
Some cement and steel bars have already been sent to the region surrounding the mountain resort on the DPRK's east coast, he added.
Hyundai Asan hopes the relief goods "will help the North side ( DPRK) rehabilitate from the flood damage as soon as possible," he said.
The DPRK government said Saturday that torrential rains in early August left at least 600 people dead or missing and 100,000 others homeless.
