An American soldier was killed and two others wounded in fighting in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, the U.S. military said on Monday.
The incident occurred during combat operations in western Baghdad on Sunday, a military statement said.
An Iraqi interpreter was also wounded in the attack, it added.
The soldiers' names are being withheld pending notification of next of kin, the statement said.
The latest deaths bring the number of U.S. soldiers have been killed in Iraq to more than 3,760 since the breakout of Iraq war in March 2003, according the media count based on Pentagon figures.
