Bolivia's President Evo Morales on Tuesday defended collaboration with Iran on the sidelines of the 62nd United Nations General Assembly, according to news reaching here.
"We are from the culture of dialogue and life, without marginalization and discrimination. We are about unity, solidarity and complementarity," he said, adding that he would open negotiations with all nations which can help defend life.
Iran's President Mahmud Ahmadineyad will arrive in Bolivia on Thursday to sign aid agreements as well as deals on technology transfer and construction of industrial plants.
"We decided to begin this agreement and open diplomatic relations with Iran to complement and improve the nation's economic situation, not to damage or offend anyone," he said.
Iran is under international pressure for its nuclear enrichment program, which it says is for peaceful purposes. However, the United States has accused Tehran of trying to develop nuclear weapons under the cover of civilian usage.
