The World Economic Forum announced on March 12 the Young Global Leaders of 2008. Two hundred forty-five distinguished youth were selected from various spheres including business circles, political circles, literature circles and sports circles and given this special honor, including 34 outstanding Chinese youths.
Among the 34 selected Chinese youths, 31 come from the Chinese Mainland and 3 from China's Hong Kong. Most are entrepreneurs.
The 245 young global leaders come from 65 countries including 64 in East Asia, 58 in Europe, 12 in the Middle East and North Africa, 45 in North America, 24 in South Asia, 21 in sub-Saharan Africa and 21 in Latin America.
