The "Obuchi Fund for China-Japan coastal shelterbelt demonstration forest cooperation" project was recently launched on the beautiful banks of Beibu Bay - Qinzhou City in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Related officials from Guangxi, the State Forestry Administration of the P.R. of China, Japan-China Forestation Exchange Fund, and the Embassy of Japan in China, as well as personnel from various circles, attended the ceremony. The project is the first coastal shelter-forest demonstration project to be implemented by Japan's Obuchi Fund. The 820 mu coastal demonstration shelter-forest will be built in Qinzhou; and the Obuchi Fund will give 10 million yen annually for the three years of implementation.
