The Beijing Municipal Government has decided to offer the same treatment for the migrant population with Tuberculosis (TB) as for Beijing TB patients, in accordance with the guidelines to offer free TB exams and provide free anti-TB drugs, said Deng Xiaohong, deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Health Bureau.
Deng Xiaohong said that there are two major problems in the control of tuberculosis in Beijing: the first is the increase in the floating population with tuberculosis. The second is the challenge of drug-resistant tuberculosis. To that end, the Beijing municipal government has appropriated special funds in China to control multidrug-resistant tuberculosis this year.
