The chain western-style food restaurant, "C.straits Cafe," will open in Lhasa before October. It will be Lhasa's largest cafe, and the "C.straits Cafe" will expand its chain there. Li Guoyan, deputy general manager of the C.straits Cafe headquarters said that this restaurant is a joint venture with local entrepreneurs, and located on Yutuo Road – one of Lhasa's main streets – near the famous Potala Palace. Li Guoyan said that more than 400 million tourists visit the Tibet Autonomous Region every year; and tourists are still the main source of income for the tourist services industy. This Lhasa restaurant targets tourists from other parts of the country and from all over the world. Their prices are not lower than they are in other large cities in the western part of China's mainland.
Since "C.straits Cafe " opened its first restaurant in Hangzhou in 2003, more than 430 restaurants have opened, and can be found all over the Chinese mainland's major cities. "C.straits Cafe" became a well-known trademark in March.
