China has approved an application by the US Navy for the USS Nimitz to visit Hong Kong this month, the Foreign Ministry said yesterday.
The central government has also received an application for the USS Kitty Hawk to visit Hong Hong, spokeswoman Jiang Yu said.
"We will examine and approve such applications under the principle of sovereignty and according to specific situations," Jiang told a regular press conference.
