The Beijing Local Taxation Bureau on April 7 announced that currently 341,000 individuals with an annual income of over 120,000 yuan (RMB, the same as below) have made a 2007 tax self-declaration, an increase of 34 percent from last year, according to the report from ChinaNews.com.
According to reports, this year, Beijing's income tax declaration for all items increased among individuals with high incomes, particularly in the number of declared individuals who maintain a proportion of income from interest, dividend and bonus; income from the transfer of property; and income from the lease of property.
Groups with an annual income of over RMB 120,000 included 167 industries. The top ten industries were the financial, service, computer software services, telecommunications, electricity supply, real estate, wholesale trade, research and experimental development, and education sectors; and they represented 44 percent of all declared persons.
