Beijing-Tianjin inter-city railway trial operation on July 1

According to the Ministry of Railways, the Beijing-Tianjin inter-city railway will begin its trial operation on July 1; and will go into official operation on August 1 this year. By then, the Beijing-Tianjin inter-city railway will provide world-class transportation services for the athletes, spectators and tourists’ demand of traveling between Beijing and Tianjin .

According to sources from the Ministry of Railways, there will be three classes of tickets for the Beijing-Tianjin inter-city railway. Ticket prices will be higher than those of current Beijing-Tianjin railway tickets, but not more than 100 yuan. After official operation begins, the train will run at three minutes intervals, and a one-way trip will take less than half an hour.

The new Beijing south railway station will also begin official operation on August 1. And the Beijing-Tianjin inter-city railway will start from the Beijing South Railway Station and run to the Tianjin Railway Station.
