Recently, rising global aviation oil prices have led to increases in airline operation costs. After adjusting the fuel surcharge on domestic flights, airlines have also adjusted the aircraft fuel prices on international flights, according to Guangzhou Daily.
Major domestic airlines have recently announced an increase in jet fuel surcharges on international flights. On international short-hauls, such as flights between China's mainland to Southeast Asia, fuel surcharges per passenger have increased from 420 yuan to 550 yuan for every leg of the flight. For international long hauls, such as routes between China's mainland to Europe, the Americas and Oceania, fuel surcharges have increased from 800 yuan to 1,100 yuan for each passenger per leg.
Some international airlines will also make large adjustment to fuel surcharges. United Airlines, Northwest Airlines and Jet Airways raised all fuel surcharges.
