Beijing municipality has initiated comprehensive efforts to aid employment in partner cities in earthquake-stricken areas in 2009.
According to the plan, in 2009, Beijing municipality will provide over 10,000 notices concerning job opportunities to earthquake-stricken areas including the city of Shifang in Sichuan province, as well as help at least 1,000 persons find work in Beijing.
In 2008, Beijing helped 1,499 people from earthquake-stricken areas transfer employment to Beijing, helped 1,320 people find jobs in local projects supported by Beijing, and provided assistance by various means in the employment of 15,068 persons within Sichuan province.
