China-made cartoon series "Journey to the West" |

Recently the 52-episode cartoon series "Journey to the West," jointly produced by companies including Unisoft Group (Wuxi) Company, was well received at the MIPTV Media Market in Cannes. Each episode was priced as high as nearly 100,000 USD, setting a new record for the sale of domestically-made cartoon series in overseas markets. This is according to the Wuxi Animation Industry Base Development Leading Group Office.
Reporters learned that the plot and main characters amongst other features of the cartoon series "Journey to the West" have not been changed much from the original work. The dialogue, character personalities, movement design as well as visual and audio effects are more exaggerated and humorous, and are more suited to the thinking and aesthetic habits of people in modern times. The investment in this cartoon series has reached nearly 50 million yuan, with 20 episodes finished at present.
