Young people vote for China's most beautiful works of architecture

What do modern young people believe to be the most beautiful Chinese works of architecture? According to a recent survey by ePanel Co., Ltd on behalf of the Social Investigation Center of the China Youth Daily (2,876 people were surveyed, 96.4 percent of which were under 40 years of age), young people believe the Great Wall, the Imperial Palace and the Suzhou Gardens are the most beautiful works of Chinese architecture.

Ranking below the top three, young people also regarded the "Bird's Nest," the "Water Cube," Tiananmen Square, the Summer Palace, the Temple of Heaven, and the Oriental Pearl Tower to be amongst the most beautiful Chinese architectural works.

According to the survey, 66.8 percent of the young people interviewed expressed their preference for ancient Chinese architectural works while only 18.6 percent liked contemporary works.
