China's disciplinary watchdog on Tuesday expelled senior political advisor Song Pingshun, who had committed suicide last month, from the Communist Party of China (CPC).

Song, chairman of the Tianjin Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference in the northern port city of Tianjin, was found dead on June 3, and a police investigation showed that Song had committed suicide.
