China on Thursday denied that it had requested the World Bank (WB) to delete data concerned with China from a environmental report. "China's related departments have carried out some cooperative programs with the World Bank in environmental protection. The report has not drawn conclusion yet and has not been released," said Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang. "The issue that China has requested the World Bank to delete related data does not exist," said Qin at a regular news briefing. Reports say China has required the deletion of some data from a WB environmental report, which shows the pollution in China causes a lot of premature deaths nationwide annually.
