Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, promised on Thursday to make joint efforts to further develop Sino-British cooperation in various fields.

The two leaders made the promise in telephone conversation Thursday night, the Chinese Foreign Ministry's press division said in a press release.

Wen and Brown exchanged views on bilateral relations and other issues of common concern. Both spoke highly of the excellent momentum in the growth of Sino-British relations, the foreign ministry said.
