Chinese State Councilor holds talks with Syrian deputy premier |

Chinese State Councilor Hua Jianmin held talks with visiting Syrian Deputy Premier for Economic Affairs Abdullah al-Dardari in Beijing Monday.
Hua said China and Syria had a long history of friendship, and the two countries enjoyed smooth bilateral relations, including mutual respect and close political and economic cooperation, cultural exchanges and mutual coordination and consultation in international affairs.
"China is willing to work with Syria to deepen the traditional friendship and promote common development," Hua said.
Dardari said Syria was satisfied with the increasing cooperation, and would expand it in political, economic, cultural and social areas.
The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern.
Dardari was invited by the Chinese government for an official visit from July 8 to 11. It is his first visit to China since he became deputy premier.
