Singapore PM meets Chinese Vice Premier |

Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on Tuesday met with visiting Chinese Vice Premier Wu Yi, saying that the city state is willing to extend fields of cooperation between the two countries, and participate in China''''s plans of developing its northeast and northwest regions.
Satisfied with the rapid progress of bilateral ties between the two countries in recent years, Lee attributed this to the substantive and mutually beneficial cooperation which aims to obtain a win-win outcome.
Lee also commented positively on the important role played by the China-Singapore Joint Council for Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC) in guiding and promoting Sino-Singapore cooperation in various fields.
Lee firmly believes that China''''s pursuit of peaceful development will have significance in maintaining peace and stability in the Asia Pacific region.
Wu, who is on a four-day visit here, said that China has been attaching great importance to its friendly relationship with Singapore and is willing to deepen the cooperations between the two countries in various fields and push forward Sino-Singapore ties to a new high.
Wu said that JCBC, as the highest level of cooperative mechanism between the two governments, played an active role in four areas such as high-tech, Singapore''''s participation in China''''s regional development, the internationalization of Chinese enterprises, as well as the development of human resource.
