As China''s largest investment destination in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Singapore is also China''s 5th largest overseas market for project contracting and second largest overseas market for labor cooperation.

Wu pointed out that China-Singapore economic cooperation currently finds itself in a rare period of opportunities with broader scope, more fields and greater potential for its future development.

Wu urged the two countries to strengthen cooperation in modern services, energy conservation, environment protection and urban construction.

She also called on the city state to actively participate in China''s regional development and further explore cooperation modality for going global together.

Wu, who arrived here on Monday, is paying a four-day visit to Singapore at her Singapore counterpart Wong Kan Seng''s invitation.
