Zambia should be very strategic and professional in its dealings with China in order to benefit from the latter's investments, Private Sector Development Association Chairman Yusuf Dodia has said. The Post Wednesday quoted Dodia as saying that China is offering Zambia an opportunity to liberate itself economically from western domination.
"China offers Zambia a chance to develop our rail network, coal mine, copper cable manufacturing capacity, airports around the country, agriculture sector and so forth with some huge investments that would be both strategic and sustainable," Dodia said. "We can benefit from China if we choose to do so, and we must or else our economy will remain stagnant as it has been for the last 40 years with only marginal growth," he said.
