Mauritian Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam on Friday said his country was keen to enhance all-round cooperation with Zhejiang Province, one of the most developed provinces in east China.
During a meeting with Zhejiang provincial governor Lu Zushan, Ramgoolam said he visited Zhejiang in 1997 and he was delighted to see the impressive progress made by the province over the last decade.
Mauritius is attracting foreign investment at present and hopes to enhance economic cooperation with Zhejiang, the prime minister said.
Lu said that Zhejiang had developed quickly in the last couple of decades and looked forward to boosting economic ties with Mauritius and to exchanges in education and culture and other fields.
At the invitation of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, Ramgoolam arrived in Beijing on Monday, kicking off a six-day visit to China.
Zhejiang Province was the last leg of his visit. Ramgoolam has already visited Shanghai and Anhui Province.
