Nepali Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala on Wednesday met with a Chinese delegation led by Assistant Minister of Commerce Wang Chao.
Wang said the Chinese government is ready to provide logistic support for the upcoming constituent assembly election and will do its best to assist Nepal in the peace process and development.
Koirala expressed his gratitude for the help, and welcomed more investment from China in infrastructure.
Wang said the Chinese government is willing to further support Nepal's reconstruction and encourage more Chinese companies to invest in Nepal and cooperate with their Nepali counterparts.
The Chinese delegation attended the tenth session of the China-Nepal Inter Government Economic and Trade Committee Meeting (IGETC) in Kathmandu on Tuesday.
After the meeting, representatives from both countries signed the Agreement of Economic and Technical Cooperation, under which the Chinese government will provide the Nepali government with around 6.7 million U.S. dollars in grant, and two letters of exchange, with one on the technical service project for the Mobile Container /Vehicle X-Ray Inspection System, another on logistic materials worth 1.3 million dollars for the assembly election.
