The First 10+3 Media Cooperation Forum will be held in north China's port city of Tianjin on August 21, 2007, as learned from a recent press conference.
The Forum was proposed by Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao at the 10th ASEAN Plus China, Japan and Republic of Korea (ROK) Summit ("10+3" Summit) held January in Cebu, the Philippines.

The "10+3" cooperation cannot move forward without participation and support from all quarters of society, and we need to strengthen exchange and cooperation among media to extend the influence of East Asia, Wen said in a speech.

Themed "Strengthen media cooperation, Deliver Asian voice", the forum will feature in-depth discussions on three subjects: media's role in promoting the 10+3 cooperation; how to give a stronger "Asian voice" on the international area, and the 2008 Olympic Games as a magnificent event in Asia.
Dozens of major media organizations will attend the forum, including People's Daily from China, the Asahi Shimbun, Nikkei from Japan and the Straits Times from Singapore.
