The third batch of Chinese peacekeeping troops for Lebanon was organized on Friday in southwest China's Chengdu Military Command.
The force, an engineering battalion comprising 275 officers and soldiers, will have an eight-month operation, replacing the second batch peacekeepers in Lebanon in early September.
More than 90 percent of the officers are full-time university graduates majoring in engineering who can speak fluent English.
Their main task in Lebanon will be mine and explosive sweeping, construction, facility maintenance and humanistic salvation.
There are five soldiers in the battalion who have served in the first two batches as mine sweeping experts.
"The third batch of peacekeeping troops will take special training for operations before set off, including professional technique for operations, language study and diplomatic proprieties," said Kui Yanwei, a senior officer with Ministry of National Defense.
China sent the first batch of 182 peacekeepers to Lebanon in March 2006 which was replaced by the second batch of 275 peacekeepers in February 2007.
