A choral concert, in which a series of songs will be sung to commemorate the Long March, will be held in Hong Kong in late August as the 10th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland.
"The Long March Suite" choral concert will be staged at night on Aug. 25 and 26 at Hong Kong Cultural Center. Due to overwhelming public response to the concert, an extra performance will be held in the afternoon on Aug. 26.
The program will include famous mass chorus "My Dear Motherland, " "Spring Plough," "The Guerrilla's Song," "In a Far Away Land" and "The Yellow River" piano concerto.
In the concert, the mass chorus of more than 400 singers from the Zhan You Art Troupe of Beijing Military Area Command and the Hong Kong Association of Choral Societies will also sing "The Long March Suite," one of the Chinese music classics of the 20th Century.
