Chiefs of three armed forces of Bangladesh all expressed their support for the one-China policy Thursday while meeting with a high-profile Chinese military delegation.
Army Chief General Moeen Uddin Ahmed said Bangladesh will consistently support the one-China policy and not allow Taiwan to do anything harmful to this policy in Bangladesh.
While meeting with the delegation led by Chen Bingde, member of the Cental Military Commission of the Communist Party of China and chief of the General Armament Department of the People's Liberation, Moeen said China has done a lot of assistance to Bangladesh Army. He felt very grateful to that.
Moeen hoped the military cooperation between the two countries should be strengthened further.
Naval Chief Lieutenant General Sarwar Jahan Nizam and Air Force Chief Lieutenant General Ziaur Rahman also expressed the same attitude and wishes while meeting with the Chinese delegation
Chen Bingde said during the meetings the Chinese government insisted on the one-China policy, this is unchangeable. He thanked the three chiefs of armed forces for their support for the one- China policy.
Chen said China and Bangladesh have long-time friendship. "No matter what is happening and will happen in the world, the friendship between us will continue," he said.
He hoped the two countries should develop cooperation in all fields, including in military field.
The Chinese military delegation came here Wednesday for a three- day goodwill visit. Bangladesh is the first stop of their three- nation visit which also covers Indonesia and Brunei.
