The Macao police have nabbed two suspects for casino loan-sharking charges, local media reported Tuesday.
The Macao Daily News quoted police sources as saying that the police Monday captured the suspects at a local casino where they were found "aiding" a gambler in betting.
The duo, holding Cacao identification cards, has earlier offered the victim loans worth 20,000 patacas ( 2,500 U.S. dollars) and demanded "a commission" of 100 percent, the sources told the newspaper.
The suspects have been transferred to the Public Prosecution for further investigations and possible arraignment, the sources were cited.
Loan sharking has long been a common crime in Macao, a world famous casino gaming hut.
