More than 1,700 officials and business leaders from 90 countries and regions are expected to take part in the next month's World Economic Forum's Inaugural Annual Meeting of the New Champions China.
The conference will be held in the northeast coastal city of Dalian from Sept. 6 to 8. It is dubbed the "Summer Davos" after the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum, also called "Davos Forum", held in Davos, Switzerland, early each year.
The meeting, with the theme of the Shifting Power Equation, would focus on the roles of the new generation of fast-emerging multinational companies, the New Champions, are playing, Jeremy Jurgens, head of the World Economic Forum Beijing Office, said here on Thursday.
Participants would discuss major issues, including the shifting global business environment, China's economic development, and how businesses go global, said Jurgens.
He said the meeting would be a platform of cooperation and exchanges for the next generation of business leaders where they could find innovative thought and business models as well as the newest technologies.
Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao will attend and address the opening ceremony and more than 20 Chinese ministerial and provincial-level officials will also attend the meeting.
