Tian Congming, President of China's Xinhua News Agency, met here Wednesday with Hourmadji Moussa Doumgor, Chadian minister of communication and spokesman of government.
Tian said China and Chad are both developing countries. Media organizations of the two countries should strengthen cooperation to deepen understanding and friendship between the two peoples.
He said Xinhua is ready to promote media cooperation and exchanges with Chadian news organizations.
On the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, Tian said Xinhua is the news agency of the host country officially authorized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and also serves as the national photography team. Xinhua will do its best to provide convenience to its foreign peers.
Noting the two countries mainly cooperate in medical treatment and economic fields at present, Doumgor said he expected closer cooperation in the press sector in the future.
Hailing Xinhua's diversified news products and its multimedia database, Doumgor said he hopes Xinhua could help train Chadian reporters and technicians.
Doumgor is here at the invitation of the Information Office of China's State Council. His entourage include directors of Chad's state radio station and state television station.
