Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference(CPPCC), will visit Japan from September 12 to 18., announced Chinese foreign ministry on Thursday.
The year 2007 marks the 35th anniversary of the normalization of China-Japan relations and it is also designated the China-Japan culture and sports exchange year,said Jiang Yu, foreign ministry spokeswoman,adding it is also a important opportunity for the development of the bilateral ties.
"China would like to work together with Japan to push forward our strategic relationship for mutual benefit based on the three key political documents, so as to promote all-round cooperation and expand people-to-people exchanges," Jiang said.
The CPPCC chairman is invited by the Japanese government.
