A representative from the Communist Party of China (CPC) left Beijing Thursday for Portugal to take part in commemorative activities to be held by the "Advance", the newspaper of the Portuguese Communist Party.

Qu Qingshan, member of the Standing Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Qinghai Provincial Committee, is to attend the occasion as the CPC representative.

"The Advance" was founded in 1931 and has held annual commemorative activities since 1976, featuring participants from communist parties around the world.
