Wang Zhaoguo, a senior Chinese legislator met in Beijing on Friday with Speaker of the Parliament of Niger Mahamane Ousmane.

Wang, vice-chairman of the National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislative body, hailed the friendly exchanges between the NPC and the Parliament of Niger.

"We are ready to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the two sides and to make greater contributions to consolidating the friendship between the two peoples and developing China-Niger friendly and cooperative ties," said Wang.

Ousmane said it is the consensus of the Nigerien government, parliament and people to attach great importance to developing relations with China.

Niger believes that Taiwan is an inseparable part of Chinese territory and Niger will continue to firmly stick to the one-China policy.
