Chinese President Hu Jintao participated in Sydney on Saturday in a dialogue with leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum and representatives of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC).
The APEC leaders and ABAC representatives were engaged in panel discussions to exchange views on trade and investment liberation, and other issues of common concern.
Created in 1995, ABAC is committed to providing actionable advice to APEC leaders on business sector priorities and to contributing ongoing private sector input and feedback to APEC officials.
The ABAC dialogue with the leaders of APEC member economies provides a unique opportunity for APEC leaders and business leaders to discuss issues of common concern.
The Chinese president arrived here from Canberra on Wednesday to attend the annual APEC Economic Leaders Meeting. He has also paid a state visit to Australia.
The two-day APEC Economic Leaders Meeting will start on Saturday afternoon, with the theme of "strengthening our community, and building a sustainable future."
The leaders of the 21 APEC member economies will discuss climate change and clean energy, regional economic integration, support for the Doha round of talks as well as trade and investment liberalization and facilitation.
