Hong Kong government Chief Executive Donald Tsang said on Sunday that he would make efforts to promote next year's Olympics racing event, to be staged in Hong Kong of China, ahead of a three-day visit to New Zealand.

Speaking at a meeting of leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation economies in Sydney, Australia on Sunday, Tsang told reporters he would meet New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark, senior government officials and local business leaders during his visit.

Tsang will leave Sidney on Sunday evening for New Zealand to begin the official visit, a press release from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government said.

Tsang will conclude his New Zealand visit and return to Hong Kong on Wednesday.
