China on Thursday condemned a car bomb attack Wednesday in Beirut, capital of Lebanon, which killed at least five and injured more than 30.

"We condemn the explosion in Beirut, and we sincerely hope that all relevant parties of Lebanon will realize reconciliation through dialogue and consultation, to resume stability and development in Lebanon," said Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu at a regular press conference.

The explosion killed Antoine Ghanem, the Lebanese Christian lawmaker, earlier Wednesday along with at least four others and injured more than 30.
