Costa Rican Foreign Minister Rodrigo Arias said on Thursday that China "is more than a friendly country" to Costa Rica, and stressed the importance of continuing to develop bilateral friendly ties in the future.
Despite the short time the two countries established diplomatic relations, China is more than a friend to Costa Rican people already, Arias said while participating in the national day celebration by the Chinese embassy in San Jose.
The minister also praised China's opening to the world and "its willingness to share its culture, history, people and also its assets, services and opportunities with the rest of world."
Costa Rican President Oscar Arias will pay an official visit to China from Oct. 23, which will surely promote friendship between the two countries, the foreign minister added.
