Foreign parties congratulate CPC on 17th National Congress

The Workers' Party of Korea, the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Communist Party of Cuba and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party have sent congratulatory messages to the Communist Party of China (CPC) on the convening of its 17thNational Congress.


In its telegram, the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) felicitated the CPC on the convening of its 17th National Congress, and extended greetings to all CPC members and the Chinese people.


The message said that since its 16th National Congress five years ago, the CPC, adhering to the thought of putting people first, has adopted a series of new policies such as the construction of a harmonious socialist society and the scientific outlook on development, opened up new prospects for the socialist modernization cause with Chinese characteristics and scored remarkable new achievements in the causes of realizing the reunification of the motherland and safeguarding world peace.


It said that the WPK is delighted to see the success the Chinese people have achieved under the leadership of the CPC with Hu Jintao as the general secretary, and believes that the traditional friendship between the two countries will be strengthened and further promoted in accordance with the aspiration and interests of the two parties and the two peoples.


The WPK Central Committee wished great success for the CPC's 17th National Congress, it said.


The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) described the national congress as an event of historic significance for the CPC and the Chinese people as a whole.


"We firmly believe that new decisions and policies made at the congress are bound to push forward the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics into a new phase of development," said the party in its message.


The two parties, as well as the two peoples, have enjoyed a centuries-old traditional friendship and close ties, the message said, adding that the CPV, the Vietnamese government and its people attach great importance to developing a relationship of comprehensive cooperation with the CPC, the Chinese government and the Chinese people.


It said that in line with the principles of "long-term stability, facing the future, good-neighborliness and all-around cooperation," and in the spirit of "good neighbors, good friends, good comrades and good partners," the traditional solidarity, friendship and relations of comprehensive cooperation between the two parties, the two countries and the two peoples will continue to be strengthened and promoted.


"This conforms to the common interests of the two peoples and the interests of the socialism, and is also conducive to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world at large," said the message.


In its congratulatory message, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba hailed the CPC's 17th National Congress as a milestone in the construction, consolidation and development of socialism with Chinese characteristics.


The meeting is bound to further enhance the CPC's status as a vanguard of the Chinese people, said the message, which also applauded the continuous progress of Cuba-China relations.


The Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) said that the 17th National Congress is a vital meeting of the Chinese Communist Party as it is being held at a time when the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new historic phase and China's drive to build a well-off society is proceeding in an all-round way.


The event will display the great achievements that the Chinese people, under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party with Hu Jintao as the general secretary, have accomplished in the cause of reforms and opening-up, especially in implementing Deng Xiaoping Theory, the important thought of Three Represents and the scientific outlook on development, and in building up a harmonious socialist society, the massage said.


The LPRP firmly believes that the meeting will achieve complete success and that under the leadership of the CPC with Hu as the general secretary, the Chinese people will surely realize the goals set up at the meeting, make even greater success in developing China into a powerful socialist country, and contribute more to promoting global and regional peace, cooperation and development.


The LPRP is glad that a series of achievements have been made in the development of traditional friendship and the all-round cooperative ties between the two parties, the two nations and the two peoples as well, the message said.


The LPRP believes that the Laos-China relations will expand and deepen further in the new era, it added.
