A Tibetan official on Thursday expressed regret over the United States' blatant interference in China's internal affairs, referring to U.S. congressional award to the Dalai Lama and his meeting with George W. Bush.

"Whatever the Dalai Lama said at the awarding ceremony won't cheat the Chinese people, the Tibetans included," said Qiangba Puncog, chairman of the regional government of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region.
