The United States on Monday pledged financial support to help Kenya combat human trafficking which is a growing problem in the east African nation.
U.S. Ambassador to Kenya Michael Ranneberger said Kenya is a country of origin, destination, and transit for victims trafficked for the purposes of sexual exploitation and forced labor.
"The U.S. Department of Labor is providing 20 million dollars for two five-year programs to combat child labor in Kenya and protect children from trafficking and HIV/AIDS," Ranneberger said during the launch of a human trafficking report in Nairobi.
