The conclusion of the 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) has drawn continued interest from overseas news media and friendly people of many countries.
Leading Japanese newspapers on Tuesday carried articles commenting on China's policy orientation which the congress set in politics, economy, diplomacy and other fields.
The Asahi Shimbun newspaper noted the congress' decision to write the Scientific Outlook on Development into the CPC's constitution.
Japan Economic News said the new leadership of the Party will attach greater importance to plans for economic revitalization in China's northeast as well as its inland areas.
Indonesia's leading newspaper Kompas said in a commentary that China's soft power has been instrumental in achieving rapid economic growth in the country and great successes in culture and sports.
Sri lanka's Daily Mirror said the congress has set socio-economic development as the top priority of the CPC and laid emphasis on seeking solutions to environmental pollution and the problem of social injustice.
Romanian media, including Rompres news agency, also gave prominent coverage to the conclusion of the 17th CPC National Congress and the election of the new leadership of the CPC.
Colomabia's Republic newspaper said in an editorial on Tuesday that the CPC congress not only charts the course of China's social and economic development in the next five years, but has also adopted practical measures toward the set goals.
It said the congress has decided to incorporated the Scientific Outlook on Development into the CPC's constitution, which is of vital importance to China's reforms and development.
Mahmoud Mili, the first assistant general secretary of the ruling Democratic Constitutional Rally party of Tunisia, described the congress as a great event, saying Tunisia could learn from the congress' decisions to lay stress on social development and environmental protection.
M. Chimedtseye, secretary-general of the Mongolia-China Friendship Association, said that as China has advocated the concept of harmonious and peaceful development, the country's development will have a positive influence on peace and development in the region and the world as a whole, which also means development opportunities for Mongolia.
The congress is of special importance to China's future development and reform, said Alexander Lilov, director of the strategic studies center in Bulgaria.
The concept of the Scientific Outlook on Development and building a harmonious society is the continuation of China's development strategy, said Lilov.
Kenneth Lieberthal, a U.S. expert on China, had a close look at some important goals set at the congress, including making decisions with a more pragmatic approach, striving to achieve balanced development of China's economy, attaching importance to environmental protection and ensuring continued fast economic growth.
