China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) on Saturday set up a youth training campus in southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, as part of the efforts to enhance exchanges and cooperation among young people.
The China-ASEAN Youth Campus was initiated by Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao during the 10th ASEAN-China Summit held in the Philippines on Jan. 14 this year.
"The campus would provide a platform for the exchanges among young people of China and ASEAN and deepen their mutual understanding and friendship," said He Junke, secretary of Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China.
Over 400 representatives from China and ASEAN attended the opening ceremony.
China and ASEAN countries have been taking various measures to upgrade cultural exchanges, including holding personnel training, promoting tourism and holding art festivals.
