Rescuers have found the body of another victim from the landslide that occurred last Tuesday in central China's Hubei Province, bringing the death toll to 32, sources with the rescue headquarters said Friday.
According to the DNA test results, the remains of the body was identified as 14-year-old passenger Li Bo from Lichuan City, whose father was also killed in the accident.
Until now, 29 of the 30 bodies found in the bus have been identified. The other two bodies were confirmed to be tunnel construction workers.
Rescuers are still working around the clock to clear the site and searching for the missing worker Li Qingzhong and another missing passenger, the police said.
Detailed casualty information will be made known after the cleaning work at the accident site, which is expected to conclude in two or three days, said Wang Dexue, deputy head of the State Administration on Work Safety.
The landslide occurred at around 8:40 a.m. on Nov. 20 at the entrance of the railway tunnel in Badong County. About 3,000 cubic meters of rubble buried a nearby construction site and a long-distance bus passing by, which is said to have 30 people aboard.
The State Council has set up a task force to carry out an investigation into the accident. Source: Xinhua
