Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Wu Dawei is on a visit the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) to push for the process of the six-party talks, said Foreign Ministry spokesman here Tuesday.
Wu, top negotiator of the Chinese delegation to the six-party talks on the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue, conferred with his DPRK counterpart Kim Kye Gwan on current situation and future efforts, spokesman Qin Gang told a regular press conference.
Qin said the six-party talks achieved positive progress, and this momentum should be sustained.
All concerned parties should increase mutual trust and work actively to fulfil their agreements, Qin said, urging that relevant targets should be put into practice.
The six-party talks involve China, the DPRK, the United State, the Republic of Korea, Russia and Japan.
