The 15th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Youth League (CCYL) closed its sixth plenary session here on Wednesday, vowing to well serve and guide the youth and protect their rights.
The CCYL, the youth organization under the leadership of Communist Party of China (CPC), will improve study and research on the challenges and difficulties that occur to today's young people and help them find out effective solutions, says a statement issued after the session.
The key program now is to encourage all CCYL members to grasp the essence of the 17th CPC National Congress, the statement said.
The CCYL will unite all members to work for a moderately prosperous society in all respects while better serving them and protecting their legal rights and interests, the statement said.
The CCYL, established in 1922, has 73.5 million members between the age of 14 and 28.
The session was presided over by Hu Chunhua, the first secretary of the CCYL Central Committee.
The meeting also passed a decision to hold the 16th CCYL National Congress but the statement did not release the date.
